How the Spirit Emerges…
From a single length of wire, each figure is a continuous gesture that evolves with every turn of the pliers. Every LiveWireSpirit begins with a primitive spiral that becomes its expressive eye. With this one eye its spirit emerges and the rest of the wire sculpture takes form, often paired with rocks and shells for grounding and balance.

One-ness of a Kind…
The LiveWireSpirit's expressions communicate many things to many people. Some see innocence while others sense wisdom… Some feel their inner peace while others see a nodding bow in prayer… Most sense the unity in the playful spirit from which these whimsical wire figures were created. These wire figures tend to mirror back what the viewer seeks in the moment… be it a blessing… a healing prayer… a nod of approval or a simple smile. Shadows cast on the wall add a transforming dimension.

Artist’s’ Charitable Commitment…
Barbara Brown is a Sausalito architect who enjoys creating these Buddhist-inspired wire sculptures as a form of meditation practice and refuge from the challenges of daily life. For her, these whimsical figures come alive as they are transformed from the spool of wire, spreading a little joy and peace, while reminding us all to hold lightness in our hearts.

All proceeds from sales are donated in support of the worthy compassionate organization, the Tibetan Nuns Project. These sculptures are available in local galleries and Buddhist bookshops, as well as from the artist’s studio and website, www.livewirespirit.com

Live Wire Spirit joined Fine Art America on August 15th, 2010.
